In Mission 9, the Kuun-Lan makes a diversionary attack on Imperialist proximity sensors over Gozan IV, and sends an infiltration team to the planet's surface.

Overview Edit

When the Kuun-Lan approaches Gozan IV, previously captured Taiidan collectors are sent to far edge of the region so that the Imperialists would not suspect that they had been captured by kiith Somtaaw. When the ships are in position, the rest of the Somtaaw fleet begins a diversionary attack on Imperialist proximity sensors. When the enemy fleet moves towards the Kuun-Lan, the captured collectors are sent towards the planet. The Kuun-Lan's fleet continues to attack, attempting to lure as many Imperial ships as possible away from the planet. After repelling waves of Imperial strike craft, frigates, and destroyers, they finally receive a report from the infiltration team:

"This is Strike Team Alpha. We have destroyed the lab and recovered the important data. Repeat, we have recovered important data. Our cover is blown! Enemy ships in pursuit and more on intercept course. Please, help. Repeat, we are under fire and will be unable to rendezvous without help" — Captured Taiidan Resource Collector

Kuun-Lan sends all it's ships to help the Collectors. After neutralizing all Imperial ships in the area, the Kuun-Lan jumps to hyperspace.

Behind the ScenesEdit

• Cutscene before mission shows a Turanic fleet defending the planet, however during mission no Turanic forces are present.

Hints Edit

• Do your best to capture Missile Destroyer - it's great support in this mission, as helps you to repel many fighters attacking you, and later Attack Bombers striking on Resource Collectors. Best tactic to do this is to attack destroyer by frigates or captured Cruiser, move 3 workers over or below Destroyer and then giving them order to capture the ship. In this way you'll have great chance your workers will be ignored by destroyer till it's too late.
