Shipyard

Shipyards are a type of space station capable of producing or retiring spacecraft, among other things. There were several known shipyards in the homeworld universe. The biggest ones were the Scaffold station of the Kushan and the Tanis Station, used by the Hiigarans. Both were used to build Mothership-class vessels, the Mothership and Pride of Hiigara, respectively.
However, different shipyards had different capabilities, and by the Homeworld 2 era the Hiigarans and Vaygr had both begun to deploy mobile shipyards capable of producing all classes of ships besides Mothership-class and other shipyards, in addition to their ability to research new technologies and repair large vessels such as a Progenitor Dreadnaught.
